I hope you love Dubrovnik, it’s very busy but if you can look past the crowds it really is such an incredible place. You should have no problem using public transportation in Dubrovnik. We didn’t have a car and got around perfectly fine. If you need to get somewhere that the busses can’t easily access, they have Uber and it’s very cheap. We only used Uber once (on the way home from Hotel More Bar in Lapad) and it was only because we didn’t feel like waiting for the bus 🙂

We are also planning to visit Montenegro and was unsure if it is advisable to drive from Dubrovnik until I read your write up. Thanks for sharing your experience. Do you advise driving around in Dubrovnik city or is the public transport good enough to get you from place to place.

We’re going Dubrovnic in September plus Serbia, Montenegro and Bosnia then onto Greece.
