Armenia is one of the most undiscovered countries I’ve ever traveled to. When I told people my travel plans, 1/2 of them didn’t even know Armenia was an actual country. No lie.
In an era where a single Google search will pull up thousands of blog posts and magazine worthy photos for any given destination, I was surprised at how few Armenia travel tips and guides I could find online.
Renting a car is one of the best ways to explore Armenia. Instead of being tied to a tour group’s schedule, having your own car allows you the freedom to take your time, make stops, and really fine tune your itinerary.
During our trip to Armenia, we spent 2 full days exploring the Northern part of the country. On the morning of the second day, we left our amazing hotel in Lori Province and made our way toward the Tavush Region to visit Dilijan and Haghartsin Monastery.
Putting together our itinerary for Armenia was difficult. Aside from Yerevan and the popular monasteries scattered throughout the country, there was very little travel information to be found.
